I am done

This blog has ended. It was a nice dream while it lasted... But everything must come to an end.

The fact is that I just can't do it. I can't actually make the changes in my life - I lack the necessary self-confidence to actually do it. I have to face up to that fact - one of the abiding principles of this soul searching was to be realistic. The fact is that I don't have that self-confidence and at age 40 I am not going to be able to develop it.

I had decided on an area to live in. I am not going to say where it is, since that would not be right - closure is not what is being offered here. All I can say is that happiness sometimes has to fall to the demands of pragmatism and the realization of ones own limitations.

If anyone was actually reading this, thank you for reading it.

Who am I really kidding?

I mean, I know I want to get out of Florida and try something new in my work life... but I know I am never going to get the nerve to actually do it. Moving is scary after all and expensive. i know I'm never going to want to take that chance or spend that money.

So I'm stuck in this hellhole of a state forever.

RIP Mary Travers

When I was a bit younger I decided to go see Peter, Paul and Mary expecting just a kind of boring concert... What I got was, perhaps, the single finest 2 hours of music I have ever seen live. I saw them multiple times afterward and was always impressed not just by their music (Which was always good) but by the fact that they would have a section in which each person would do solo stuff while the others would wander into the audience to talk to the attendees or just listen to the music... That is how I met Peter Yarrow and Mary Travers. Both seemed like decent people with extraordinarily intelligent and caring brains between their ears... So I was very saddened to hear of Travers passing this morning... The world lost one of the very few famous performers that I know was genuine and warm today.

Proof that Obama is the coolest president ever!

Go ahead - show me any other president that has also been a Jedi master in recent decades!

Obama is the coolest president ever!

Boston....

You know, when I first started this blog I was heavily leaning in the direction of the west coast area... But now that I think about it, Boston doesn't sound like such a bad place. I have been doing some research and Bostons sounds like a really nice place.

Pros :
  1. The move would be easier
  2. I am within a long weekend trip of my family
  3. In the Autumn there is that beautiful changing of colors of the leaves
Cons :
  1. I don't know anyone in that area
  2. Boston itself is pricey to live in
  3. There is a lot of competition for my type of job with MIT just around the corner

Haven't posted in awhile!

This is my "Required post because I haven't posted in awhile" post. I've been thinking about my choices and I am really leaning towards tossing out Denver... It's an area I just don't know much about (other than from a couple people who live there thinking it's a nice place). But Boston and Seattle remain viable options.
